As the massive black wolf padded through the forest with his large paws, claws sinking into the dirt with each step, he took in the air. It was sweet with new life, but yet there was still a bit of a chill hanging in the air, one that was paired with the small, yet ever-so dispersing, snow piles. The counsel member was glad to say that the snow was melting and Spring was in the air, considering that the warmer weather brought back more prey, and spring always brought along new pups as well.
Through his nostrils, Zaiden could pick up a few more scents that symbolized prey returning to the area of the Forest of Fall. The crunching of leaves under his paws sounded, making his ears prick upward, but then quickly relaxing once he realized it was only his own self creating the noise. The prideful wolf was grateful for the winter to be completely over with, and the lean times of the pack come to an end. He might be a bit of a harsh wolf at times, but he truthfully did care about the well-being of his pack; not so much with the dogs, though. He looked at them as though they were inferior, and to him, they really were, but he had respect for the few that caught his attention and worked hard. The slackers infuriated him, however.
A wind rushed into the scene, carrying all sorts of new scents and things to pick up on, and he took them all in one at a time, but they weren't exactly substantial; some were from his pack and others were just more prey, and others were things such as land-markers and things of that nature. Zaiden decided it was high time he were to take a break, so he found a inviting creek to sit by, and his amber eyes watched the water dribble its way down its path. It seemed like he had been watching it for a few minutes when another wind came and broke him out of his trance, though his fur protecting him from the chill. He wiggled his nose, and shook his head, trying to get the wind out of his ears, for he hated any of his senses to be clogged in any way.
His deep voice gave a huff of irritation at the wind and he rose to his paws yet again; he should probably start heading back. It was a nice walk that he had given himself, but duty always calls in the life of a counsel member, and not only that, but having to give off an example as well as being a role model to younger members of the Pack.
But Zaiden really did love it; it was the perfect place for him.
Following his path by using his nose as a guide, the black wolf brushed passed greenery and stepped through more snow, not enjoying the squish that presented itself as he did so; how irritating.
